TAS Producers: Sheep & Goat $1 eID Tag Rebate Now Extended to All NLIS Tag Colours

NRE Tasmania recently expanded the eID tag rebate scheme on electronic NLIS sheep & goat tags to include NLIS tags of all year colours for the final months of the scheme for Tasmanian farmers.

In practice this means that from 1 February 2026 the $1.00 (ex-GST) discount per Sheep/Goat eID tag will no longer be restricted to White / Orange / Pink / Yellow tags only … it will be available on Sheep/Goat eID NLIS tags of all colours (8 x Year-of-Birth Colour Tags + Post-Breeder Pink Tag). 

The scheme is still scheduled to end on 30 June 2026. Note that the scheme could end earlier if funding is exhausted. Tags will increase in price by around $1.00 (ex) when the scheme ends so it is a fantastic opportunity to stock up on different colours.
