The letter height of stencils varies according to personal preference and the word length. Long names need to use smaller letters (or multiple lines). Older stencils commonly use a letter height of 100mm, and newer stencils commonly use either 75mm or 100mm. For one-line stencils, a letter height of 100mm is suited for names with around 10 characters or less. Names over 10 characters would generally use 75mm.
