QLD Discounted eID Ear Tags

Queensland, along with other Australian states and territories, is transitioning to mandatory electronic identification (eID) for sheep and farmed goats to improve traceability and biosecurity across the livestock industry.

To support producers during this rollout, the Queensland Department of Primary Industries has introduced a Sheep & Goat eID Tag Discount Program, announced on 30 March 2026. This program provides a per-tag discount on eligible NLIS-accredited eID devices, helping reduce the cost of compliance for producers.

The discount applies to approved NLIS sheep and goat eID tags, including both Year-of-Birth colour tags and post-breeder (pink) tags. Discounted pricing is already reflected on our website and will remain available until 30 June 2027 or until allocated funding is exhausted. Unlike some other state programs, the QLD discount is applied per tag purchase and is not limited to a single order per PIC.

For larger orders, additional requirements apply. Orders of 3,500 tags or more require pre-approval from the department before processing. Orders below this threshold do not require pre-approval and can be placed as normal.

Key Information:

  • Discount applies to eligible NLIS-accredited sheep & goat eID tags
  • Available until 30 June 2027 or while funds last
  • Pre-approval required for orders of 3,500+ tags only

How to Order:

Browse the discounted QLD eID tags listed below, select your preferred brand and quantity, and complete your order online. Simply enter your PIC and required details, add to cart, and proceed to checkout.

For orders over 3,500 tags, pre-approval must be obtained prior to purchase. Kindly email [email protected] or call them on 13 25 23 for assistance.
